The Milk Trays are very flexible which allows frozen milk to come out easily and the frozen 1oz cubes can be transferred to freezer safe zip lock bags so the trays can be reused as needed. I bought these because I thought they would fit into our medela bottles. 2 frozen sticks will fit, but that is it. They are too long for the Avent 4 oz bottles. We can fit 3 sticks in the Avent 9 oz bottles. More sticks will fit, if you break them before putting them in the bottles, but I’m not sure if that is good for the breastmilk??
Do not overfill the tray, or you will spill milk all over the place even with the cover on. It would be smart to have the freezer door open ahead of time, to help with spilling.
These are great in theory, but not in actual use.

I use them for both breast milk and baby food and can’t recommend them enough. It is true that the lids don’t snap on, you have to be a bit careful when placing them in the freezer but I have not found this to be a problem. I really love this product and have purchased them for friends.

My baby doesn’t take a bottle and so I only pump to mix in with her solid food. This allows me to freeze in one ounce sizes, and I cut them in half sticks for the days she just doesn’t want to eat much. The lid closes tight. I do have to open the freezer and gingerly walk the tray to it. But that’s because I don’t like the milk sloshing around in the tray and have layers freezes on the lid (which would be wasteful). So, I can’t testify to whether it would leak if you run with the tray.

This product does not snap closed, leaving the breast milk exposed to the air in the freezer, which will give it freezer burn and render it contaminated and useless in days!! It closed when I first bought it, all I did was hand wash it, not even in very warm water, and by the first time I put it in the freezer it no longer closed. I almost lost 2 days worth of pumped milk. If you have ever pumped to create a store of milk to use when going back to work you know how frustrating it is to lose milk you have been storing up.
I did try the suggestion of other reviewers, warming the top of the trap to make it pliable enough to snap again, but that did not work. I had to place the tray in a freezer bag just to avoid losing the milk I put in it. As soon as I have used up that milk, I can guarantee you that the trays will be going straight into the trash.
I suggest ordering the Fresh Baby So Easy trays instead.

After reading the reviews here I opted to buy these trays despite the complaints about the lids not fitting tightly. I really do like the concept, and the sales reps at my local maternity store indicated they had not heard any complaints about them so I figured I would just try them and be careful with handling.
What I found was that the lids fit great the first time you use the trays, but after one freezing cycle, good luck on ever getting them to snap fully closed again. I was super careful when moving the trays with ill-fitting lids, but I would venture to say that it is nigh impossible to keep from having some degree of spilt milk while transferring from kitchen counter to freezer. The trays wound up being more of a pain than they were worth, especially since you cannot put them in the dishwasher either. (Ironically the literature says that to do so will warp them – gee, I guess they forgot to mention that they would get warped in the freezer??) I soon discontinued using these trays. Instead, I ordered 2.5 oz Medela storage bottles and they work great in the freezer and are a convenient size to defrost.
I may try these trays again when it’s time to freeze pureed foods – at least they won’t spill like milk.
